August 15, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web host Easyspace (http://www.easyspace.com/) has launched the .ASIA domain name extension, it was announced this week. The company, which bills itself as “one of the largest web hosting and domain name providers in the UK”, made the move on the heels of its recent introduction of the .ME domain extension.
.ASIA domains are geared towards companies and individuals with a presence in the ICANN designated Asia / Pacific region. According to the company, this new Top Level Domain (TLD) “provides a channel for businesses to expand by reaching out to some of the fastest growing economies in the world”.
“This is the second high profile domain extension we’ve launched in the last month, instantly increasing the variety of domain extension alternatives available to customers,” explained Easyspace’s Sales and Marketing Director, Mr. Errol Vanderhorst. “We recently launched .ME, which has continued to receive a lot of attention, so we’re hoping we can build on that success in letting people know we are now offering .ASIA.”
To acquire a .ASIA domain, potential registrants (individuals, organizations or companies) must be a “legal entity” in Asia. Domain registration through Easyspace is for a minimum of 2 years and up to 10 years
